Outdoor First Aid
This qualification is designed to enable you to undertake the role of the first aider in the UK's rural and more remote regions.
You will gain the first aid skills and knowledge to competently and confidently provide first aid in an outdoor remote environment.
The 16-hour qualification meets the Outdoor First Aid Band 3 requirements set by the Institute for Outdoor Learning and the requirements for the first aid element of the expedition syllabus for the bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh awards.
This qualification is regulated in the UK and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA).
FAA are an awarding organisation regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation and the qualification sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
The qualification is delivered, assessed, and quality assured adhering to the Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications, and delivered and assessed by the current Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines.
The qualification is aligned with the Institute for Outdoor Learning Statement of Good Practice for Outdoor First Aid Training.
This course is also suitable for any self-reliant outdoor activity instructors, teachers, or leaders operating in situations where a number of hazards may be present or help may be up to a few hours away, such as an outdoor education tutor, mountain or canoe expedition leader, Duke of Edinburgh assessor, or forest school leader.

The venue is modern, with heating and air conditioning to teach all year round. Please dress accordingly for the outdoor scenarios that take place throughout the course. Toilets are on-site, and there is a refreshments area for as much tea/coffee and biscuits as you can handle.

The Level 3 Outdoor First Aid course will be conducted over two days and feature a blend of indoor and outdoor training sessions. This approach will allow you to engage in practical exercises in real outdoor settings, enhancing your skills in a relevant environment. Please come prepared for both classroom activities and outdoor scenarios.
